A couple of years ago I had the chance to go back to Washington DC with my Mom and go through the Museum of American History. For my Mom though this turned into more of a walk down memory lane. As we walked the halls repeatedly I heard things like: “I had that exact same wooden doll house,” “We used to wash our clothes just like that,” and ” I remember when the phone operator would jump on my phone conversation and tell me it was time to get off the phone.”
This made me think what are some things that my kids will think are crazy that to me were just a normal part of growing up.
Pulling open the sliding door on the van by hand
Dial tone/busy signal
Not knowing who was on the other end of the phone before you answered it.
Waiting for the right time on the right night to watch your favorite show.
Going to the store to rent a movie. And if it was too new chances are they were already all rented out.
Remote Controls. (We have a Roku at our house and rather than finding the lost remote we use the Roku app on our phones to change the show.)
Going to the Bank to deposit a check.
Not wasting pictures because you had 35 shots and good or bad you were paying to develop all of them.
What would you add to the list?
